For years, Siberian winter has been associated with
severe frosts, terrifying winds and large snow-covered spaces inhabited by bears. As a result, travelling to Siberia in winter
may seem sort of extreme to lots of people, who have never been there. Like most of the myths, it has nothing to do with the
reality! Winter at Lake Baikal is interesting not only in terms of diversified outdoor activities, but also because of
the unmatched natural beauty. So after experiencing
a crowdie and noisy airports, train stations and taxis cruises you can almost be forgiven hearing the silence
from the fairy tale like winter Taiga in the village of Listvyanka with it modern hotels, enjoy the winter Baikal safari on
skates or explore the ancient gold digger’s tracks as your holiday enfolds. For some people the most preferred
time of leisure and travelling is probably - summer. Summer at the lake Baikal begins in mid-June and ends in late August.
The weather at this time of the year is perfect for a beach or cruise holiday. There are in abundance picturesque places for
stopping over for a picnic, crystal clear water of the streams for refreshment, and if you're a fisherman, then surely
you will have the opportunity to enjoy a dish from fresh fish, baked on the open fire. In winter or summer you
can indulge your taste with a large variety of outdoor curiosity by visiting the ancient monuments, historic fossilized artefacts, the
Baikal railway ring tracks, cloud touching summit of Eastern Sayan Mountains, creeks and streams and the legendary Tungin
Valley and its pure air.Your printed or memorized souvenir will definitely be a thing to remember not only for ever but also
a subject of jealousy from friends and colleagues. For sure even the most inactive and less prepared adventurers will
find the Southern part of Lake Baikal to be the most interesting tourist destination in the region.
